This is the end, my friends

You know what I hate the most about vacations? Coming home and going back to work. Is it just me or does it always seem that the work load doubles when you're gone. I have the added bonus of a trade show just around the corner so in addition to the regular load, I have to be creative and come up with new designs. Let's not even mention the fact ( Read more... )

Calgon take me away!

That just can't mean to you what it does to me, lol. Here, it's a water softener you put in the washing machine to stop limescale buildup?!

While I'm pondering why you want your washing machine to take you away from it all (too many Quiksilver tops, methinks;)), my sympathies about the return to work. The only thing to do I found, was to book another holiday asap and ring it on the calendar in flashing lights.

Great pics again. Ooh, that sun, sea and sand. I have serious beach envy, though that collection of glass is very impressive. I'm rather amazed they dumped that where they did. I'll look forward to my holiday in your cottage in years to come - hopefully, we'll have our Lake District one by then and can do one of those exchanges. It'll work for the cats too!

LOL! No. It's a bubble bath that's supposed to take away all your stress from the day. Although, looking at my limescale buildup, I could use a bit of yours too.

I wish I could but I've had my two holidays and wiped out my vacation time for the year. I do have Labor Day and Thanksgiving to look forward to and the shop usually closes over Christmas but I won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Yes, indeed! Have cat. Will travel?

Be careful, I may take you up on that beach house offer! Sometimes I think vacations are not worth it when I think of the mountain of things that will be left for me by coworkers who didn't know how or didn't want to handle them! But, If it was Hawaii, I think It might just be worth it!

Just remember to remove your shoes at the front door.

It is sometimes difficult to go away knowing what you'll come back to, but I wouldn't give up time in the islands for anything! Next time, I need to go for longer than a week. But I do miss my kitties while I'm gone.

Those are some really great pictures!

I can't believe those fish would be so close to shore! I've never seen one so close.

The sea glass collection is very impressive although I'm very surprised such Earth-conscience people would dump stuff like that.

Glad to see you had such a great time!

:D

They're so used to humans and the reef is protected that they're pretty much just immune to us...unless we bring food, then we're their best buddies. The big guys weren't close to shore, and the reef at that point was a good 10 to 15 feet deep.

There was a lot of damage after Iniki and there's not a lot of options when you're an island. They did take care not to dump food or potentially toxic waste.

Aloha!

Guess what Errol just delivered? Thank you very much.:D Am sure Mr Gilpin will like the Hula dancers, lol.

Am off to the Lake District in mid-September, so if you fancy a card in return, give me a (Quiksilver;)) nod.

You just got it? Holy crap! That took a while. ladybracknell's only took a week. Maybe I should have used Pigwidgeon!

I would love a postcard from your trip. Perhaps you should send it now.

Do you need my address?

I was going to say try Hedwig next time, but as she's in an AU that might be even slower, lol. godrical sent me a card from Spain, and she'd been back about a month before I got that so perhaps we're just not on the owl post trail here.

Will test this theory in Ambleside and see what's it's like in reverse. I'll drop you an email to confirm the address.

Oh and hope you didn't think I was an ungrateful so-and-so not saying thanks! ;)
