senseless

My cousin's 17 year old son, Jonathan, was shot to death last night as he road his bike under a freeway overpass. There are no witnesses but it was most likely gang-related, even tho' he was not a gang member. This happens almost daily in Los Angeles and it makes me sad and angry each time but now it's personal and I'm pissed. What is it going to ( Read more... )

I'm very sorry. It is so senseless and wrong and, like you, I have no answers, because if people can't see that then I don't even understand how they think. What's happening here with gangs and people being killed for being in the wrong place at the wrong time is horrifying enough. And all it causes is pain and grief.

My sympathies to you and your family.

Thank you. :) It's unfathomable how little some people value life. And these are just kids doing this!

Oh, I'm really, really sorry to hear that. It's always awful to lose someone so young, but especially to such a senseless thing.

I'll be thinking of you and your family.

*hugs*

Oh, that is horrible and I'm sorry something like this happens at all, especially to someone so young.

It's astonishing that something like that could happen to someone just for being there at the wrong time.

I'll be thinking of those effected.

*hugs*

Thank you. It is hard to understand something like this happening. It happens to often, sadly.

Oh, good grief. I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how you must feel, let alone your cousin.

Gang related killings are getting a lot of press over here at the moment, and it's unfathomable why so many kids must die for apparently senseless reasons. Carrying concealed weapons seems less often to protect, and all too often to pull in a heated moment. It's enough to make any person angry, but to be personally affected by it? I can't imagine.

Thinking of you and your family.

Thanks. :) If the gangster lifestyle wasn't so glamorized or the money our government spends on policing other countries were instead spent on fixing the problems in our country, maybe events like this wouldn't happen so often.

Don't know what to say. I'm so sorry. You must feel utterly frustrated and helpless. My thoughts are with you and your family.
