Life is a Cabaret. No really. It is.

For what seems like the first time in a month, I have an evening free. No rehearsals. No performances. No other obligations. So I've been doing dishes, sweeping floors and balancing my checkbook. Yes. My life is that exciting.

Don't know if I mentioned it, but I've been involved in a local production of Cabaret. Instead of taking my usual spot in ( Read more... )

Cabaret looks like so much fun!

tomorrow I'm going to Target to see if I can find a pair of boxers or something with hearts on them

Good plan. :D

Am loving the R/T goodness, by the way--can't wait to see the finished product.

*goes searching for a cute little star hairclip*

Found me some boxers with hearts on em and I just tried on the ensemble. They'll fit over the tights and under the skirt and will only show when I'm climbing on to the platform or taking my curtsy during bows. Perfect!

Photos will be forthcoming...

Any luck finding a star hair clip?

The production looks like a lot of fun! Wish We could all go see it! Got to go to a melodrama this Christmas, and only ever having been exposed to our local Barn Theater, it was a total blast! Even though The Barn Theater is the oldest continuously running local theater in the country and where Ann B. Davis (AKA Alice from the Brady Bunch) got her start ;)) Professional theater was a world apart!
Thanks for the little Teaser of your Meta Piece! Look forward to seeing it!

The Barn Theater sounds awesome. Being in LA, I do have many opportunities to see a variety of entertainments in a variety of venues. I prefer the smaller, off the beaten track ones. Tho' I'm not opposed to taking in a Broadway musical on occasion.

Speaking of Anne B, there's a theatre-troop here that I absolutely love. They specialize in doing Shakespeaian plays to pop music with a live band and acrobatic acts. My fav is "Hamlet: The Artist Formerly known as the Prince of Denmark". Basically Hamlet done to Prince music. Friggin' hysterical. And I don't even like Prince! But I digress...their most recent (non-christmas themed) show was "Alice in One Hit Wonderland". It was the Alice in Wonderland story but with Alice from the Brady Bunch instead! Too damn funny.

I hope I'm able to get my Meta piece past the teasing stage quickly. I'm planning to do an esurance-inspired piece next and want to get started on it already! I'm so bad...

Ah shucks. I totally fail at being a consistant poster but I like to pop in when I have something fun to share.

I checked my f-list last night and saw this, but before I could read it, LJ went down for maintenance! How rude was that?

Anyway, Cabaret sounds like a big fun adventure. LOL@ you having to be a male tart. Definitely get some boxers!

Ooh, Love the Meta drawing so far! Hope you get time for it soon. Break a leg at the rest of your shows

No! Did it keep you up all night wondering what I had to say? LOL.

Got my boxers and will share a photo when I have some. I love being tarty with the Pit! I get to say things like..."Who vants to buy me a drink after the show?" or "You and I can make beautiful music together." I thought of another one for tomorrow night.."Tell your wife you won't be home tonight." Better write that down so I don't forget. Of course, all of this banter being done in a passable German accent. I'm trying to channel Madeline Kahn from Blazing Saddles.
