Since my last post was just about two months ago and there's a new meme floating around, I thought it was high time I became an active participant round here! But first a quick update. Actually it's going to be a real slow update, as I'll explain in a mo..
When last I posted, my Mac had died. Fortunately, I've a friend who works at a University

I have always wanted to learn to oil paint. When I was in college, I took as many different courses as I could but fell in love with Printmaking and went gung ho into that. If there was enough time in the day or evening, I'd check into taking some adult courses. Or I suppose I could just find that learn-to-paint guy with the "happy trees" on television.
Sculpting always looked fun too!

I like the Next Generation tops, and I'm going for question #4: What are you doing on your birthday this year? (I nearly copied 'What am I doing onmy birthday', which would have thrown everyone. Especially me.)

As far as the Trombonist goes, I have tried the old "a way to a man's heart is through his stomach" routine by making chocolate chip cookies for the Pit crew, and he is an enthusiastic partaker but still stubbornly sticking to his fiance! ;)
And the answer to #4 is...I'm going to Disneyland! In fact, I just got my email confirmation from Disney today so i can get in for free! My friends that can make it (mostly teachers who have the summer off) either have passes or will be signed in by another friend who works at the park. It's a hefty $74 for adults and I wouldn't ask anyone to spend that much money on my birthday...unless they want too!
I know it's a bit early but what are you doing on your birthday?

Nice move, but I think your problem is the sticking fiance part. Have you thought of accidentally knocking her out with a flying drumstick and then feeding him the cookies to console him?

Oh, wow. That's something to look forward to. And you'll be sending postcards, obviously? ;)
I hadn't even thought about my birthday, lol. Until now! I am going on holiday next week, but that's going to be one of my questions.

If you could crack the whip at the yahoo that's not pushing my credit card application through fast enough, I would appreciate it. Can't do a bloody thing on the mac I have at home right now. Which is why I'm doing all this at work. Shush. Don't tell the boss.

Hmmmm...The strings usually aren't anywhere near the percussion so I'd have to aim carefully so as not to hit any unsuspecting brass players on the way. I should practice at home before I attempt anything in the PIt. Thanks for the idea.

I can. Who's your favourite Disney character?
ooh! Vacation time coming up. I'll be looking for your questions so i can see where my postcard will be coming from.

3) What was the best concert I've ever been to?
Also, there was a Make Your Own Flip-Flops stall in town last week. I was kind of tempted to have a go, lol.

The absolute best concert I've ever been to was John Denver at the Greek Theater (next to the Hollywood Bowl). It was just John with a couple of guitars. No backing band. No light show. It was an outdoor venue too so it felt like being at a campfire with a couple thousand of your friends.
Not that you've asked, but the worst concert I've seen was ELO. We had crap seats which were above the amp stacks so we couldn't see the musicians in the back of the stage (like the drummer). Plus there were these two older hippy guys trying to offer me and my friend (still in high school) marijuana. Eewww. Don't remember much about the band's performance.

I had the chance to see John in concert 4 times. The last one was only a few months before his death. He always gave you more than your money's worth whether he was solo or with a full band and chorus. I miss him. :(

LOL The TNG shirts are hilariously awesome. Or awesomely hilarious? Whatever, I think they're cool because you're not being all gung-ho about them looking exactly like TNG uniforms. ;)
Fingers crossed for you to have a new Mac in your hands soon!

Sorry. Already taken. Would you care to play again? I see that #1 and #5 are available.

So, the answer to # 5 is that I'd buy some property and open a free-range cat shelter for as many homeless kitties as I could find. I should probably start playing the Lottery!

Love the free range cat shelter idea! OF course I kind of have that now! Live on 20 acres and have 10 cats! Jeez, how did that happed?
