Anybody wanna Meme?

Jun 10, 2009 21:21

Since my last post was just about two months ago and there's a new meme floating around, I thought it was high time I became an active participant round here! But first a quick update. Actually it's going to be a real slow update, as I'll explain in a mo..

When last I posted, my Mac had died. Fortunately, I've a friend who works at a University ( Read more... )

Oh oh! I want to know the answer to #2! :D

And fingers crossed that you will soon get a new mac.

I'm crossing everything I've got for the new Mac to come through. Any additional fingers are a bonus!

I have always wanted to learn to oil paint. When I was in college, I took as many different courses as I could but fell in love with Printmaking and went gung ho into that. If there was enough time in the day or evening, I'd check into taking some adult courses. Or I suppose I could just find that learn-to-paint guy with the "happy trees" on television.

Sculpting always looked fun too!

You definitely need a new Mac to finish off something and get ready to do something else! When you're not Brigadooning, of course - have you considered having the drum kit fall on the Trombone player, thereby leaving him unable to move until he sees sense? ;)

I like the Next Generation tops, and I'm going for question #4: What are you doing on your birthday this year? (I nearly copied 'What am I doing onmy birthday', which would have thrown everyone. Especially me.)

I think I'm going to have to pull some late nights so I can finish off my Advent Meta piece before the possible next challenge in July!

As far as the Trombonist goes, I have tried the old "a way to a man's heart is through his stomach" routine by making chocolate chip cookies for the Pit crew, and he is an enthusiastic partaker but still stubbornly sticking to his fiance! ;)

And the answer to #4 is...I'm going to Disneyland! In fact, I just got my email confirmation from Disney today so i can get in for free! My friends that can make it (mostly teachers who have the summer off) either have passes or will be signed in by another friend who works at the park. It's a hefty $74 for adults and I wouldn't ask anyone to spend that much money on my birthday...unless they want too!

I know it's a bit early but what are you doing on your birthday?

It might start part way through July and run into a bit of August, depending on how soon the mods get their act together and provided there's going to be more than two people turning up. But I really should be cracking the whip, shouldn't I, not extending your Christmas deadline! So hurry up! ;)

Nice move, but I think your problem is the sticking fiance part. Have you thought of accidentally knocking her out with a flying drumstick and then feeding him the cookies to console him?

Oh, wow. That's something to look forward to. And you'll be sending postcards, obviously? ;)

I hadn't even thought about my birthday, lol. Until now! I am going on holiday next week, but that's going to be one of my questions.

So hurry up! ;)

If you could crack the whip at the yahoo that's not pushing my credit card application through fast enough, I would appreciate it. Can't do a bloody thing on the mac I have at home right now. Which is why I'm doing all this at work. Shush. Don't tell the boss.

Hmmmm...The strings usually aren't anywhere near the percussion so I'd have to aim carefully so as not to hit any unsuspecting brass players on the way. I should practice at home before I attempt anything in the PIt. Thanks for the idea.

Oh, wow. That's something to look forward to. And you'll be sending postcards, obviously? ;)

I can. Who's your favourite Disney character?

ooh! Vacation time coming up. I'll be looking for your questions so i can see where my postcard will be coming from.

I want to know this one:

3) What was the best concert I've ever been to?

Also, there was a Make Your Own Flip-Flops stall in town last week. I was kind of tempted to have a go, lol.

Make your own flip flops? Cool. What kind of options were they offering?

The absolute best concert I've ever been to was John Denver at the Greek Theater (next to the Hollywood Bowl). It was just John with a couple of guitars. No backing band. No light show. It was an outdoor venue too so it felt like being at a campfire with a couple thousand of your friends.

Not that you've asked, but the worst concert I've seen was ELO. We had crap seats which were above the amp stacks so we couldn't see the musicians in the back of the stage (like the drummer). Plus there were these two older hippy guys trying to offer me and my friend (still in high school) marijuana. Eewww. Don't remember much about the band's performance.

OMG, they had all sorts of things. They had all kinds of colours, printed... strappy bits, patterned bases, and beads, fake flowers and jewels to be added at will. I might go back and see if they're still there at the weekend and have a go.

John Denver = ♥ :D.

I happen upon this web site this morning if you need any flip flop inspiration.

I had the chance to see John in concert 4 times. The last one was only a few months before his death. He always gave you more than your money's worth whether he was solo or with a full band and chorus. I miss him. :(

I'll take #2 please!

LOL The TNG shirts are hilariously awesome. Or awesomely hilarious? Whatever, I think they're cool because you're not being all gung-ho about them looking exactly like TNG uniforms. ;)

Fingers crossed for you to have a new Mac in your hands soon!

Sorry. Already taken. Would you care to play again? I see that #1 and #5 are available.

I really wanted to be a Forest Ranger. Actually, I wanted to work at a State Beach but when I found out how much math was required for a degree I lost my enthusiasm. I mean, how much math do you need to know to run the slide projector at the camp fire?

K I'll ask # 5! I'm sure the 1st thing would be the most tricked out Mac you could fine. Just got my Mac Book Pro 2.4 ghz with 4 gb of ram last Friday. The puppy destroyed my old one! It was really time for a new one anyway. Got it Friday, and Monday apple dropped prices on macBook Pros! Story of my life!

D'oh! Bummer about the post-purchase price drop. I guess ya just gotta know when the big Apple announcements are going to be made and hold off until then. Speaking of pup-related electronic disasters...how's your iPod?

So, the answer to # 5 is that I'd buy some property and open a free-range cat shelter for as many homeless kitties as I could find. I should probably start playing the Lottery!
