Food, glorious food...Meme Day One

Jan 24, 2010 20:40

Just spent a busy two weeks in rehearsals and performances of Seussical with a super talented youth theater group. The weather has been cold and wet with back to back to back to back arctic storms dumping on us poor, unprepared southern Californians. But the sun finally came out saturday and we have a few days to dry out and prepare for the next ( Read more... )

The quiche looks delicious! Wish I could have some! Your cats are adorable, I particularly adore Dora whose expression seems to say, "Give me some. NOW!" and it also looks like she thumped her fist (paw!) on the table for effect!

I'd do a food meme, but since my Mom won't let me anywhere near the kitchen (Carol+Kitchen=Disaster!), I'll just end up taking snaps of her cooking.

Indian food is so much harder to make - what with the right amount of spices and seasonings so that you won't end up setting your tastebuds on fire! :P

You know, as interested as they were in the Quiche, no body actually wanted any once it was offered. Not sure I should be relieved or insulted!

Oh go ahead and do the food meme using your mom's cooking. I'm sure hrymfaxe could handle the spices.

You have the most helpful cats! Did they make sure you got the daily requirements of cat-hair? ;)

I love quiche! And I like making my own crust too, so I can flour that's slightly coarse (can you say that about flour? This meme is expanding my vocabulary!) instead of having a completely smooth dough.

It looks great, and I would love to have that in my fridge to eat for breakfast. :D

Fortunately, Fran didn't hop up on the counter until after the Quiche was in the oven. Good kitty.

I understand what you mean about the flour texture in the crust. Store bought ones tend to crumble too.

Had a helping for breakfast. Yumm.

Cats are an integral part of any recipe. I love how Dora has taken on the Dora The Explorer role in that pic, lol.

It took her a while but she's pretty much over her skittishness and is all over everything. Except that she and Fran do not get along. At all. We're talking major hissing and chasing around the house. I keep telling Fran she's the Queen of the house but she still feels the need to make Dora aware of it.

I know! Isn't that great? I almost didn't name her Dora, because of Dorrie but it's not like you'll ever see them at a party together.

She is adorable. :)

Come on, own up - the cats really made the quiche, didn't they? ;)

It does look very tasty indeed, and I love the various expressions from the assistant cooks. How are Dora and Remus getting on? True whiskered love yet?

Darn. My secret's out. My cats also do most of the home improvement projects around here. However, since I can use a keyboard, I get to post the pictures and take all the credit. ;)

Remus and Dora don't cross paths often as he's usually sleeping on the roof and she's not allowed (and thankfully hasn't figured out how) to. She mostly hangs out with Murphy, who's younger than the others and still up for a good wrestling match.
