I'm back from my holiday on Kaua'i and have been sorting through the over two thousand pictures taken by me and my siblings since I got home. Fortunately for you, I am not going to post all of them. Unfortunately for you, I am going to post quite a few. ;) Once I'm done, I need to get started on my Summer Hallows Jumble entry. I've got the

Going to work today did, though.

Shave ice! That is some good stuff. Did you get to try any of the green tea shave ice with red beans?
I've only tried a kayak like that once, and found it very low and tippy compared to a canoe, but I think I could be convinced to try it again, heh.
Very glad to hear you have an idea for your Meta piece. Good luck with that!

I have to say that I'm not very adventurous when it comes to my shave ice flavors. It's gotta be Root Beer and something else. Orange, Cherry or Creamsicle (like a 50/50 bar) were fav's. I did try a Kapaa Sunrise with passion fruit, mango, pineapple and coconut, which was yummy. Not a tea drinker so the last thing I'm gonna do is put it on my shave ice!
The kayaks do require some balance but I only felt close to tipping over when I let Claire and Elliot paddle while I sat in the middle seat, which is really meant for kids.
Started sketching tonight on the Meta piece. I'm feeling good about it. How's yours going?

Oh, that's an interesting question -- would a non-tea-drinker like green tea flavored sweets? It might actually be worth a try, honestly. The "green tea" in these things is not the same as the green tea you brew out of a teabag (so, not like in my icon!). It's actually called matcha, and it's what they use in Japan for the tea ceremony. It's thicker than regular tea, and has a (pleasantly) bitter taste that makes for a great combination when used in something sweet. I don't know that a non-tea person would like it, but to me it's different enough from other kinds of tea that it's not a forgone conclusion that you wouldn't.
And I saw below you said the shave ice comes with optional adzuki beans and a scoop of vanilla ice cream -- that's just how they do green tea ice in Japan, and support my theory that Japan is where the Hawai'ians got it from! Uji kintoki, yum.

There is a mobil Shave Ice truck that makes the rounds in LA. I'm waiting for it to show up somewhere close so I can see what they offer. Don't know if I'll be brave enough to try a green tea flavor.

And you know I'll be waiting to see what you have for the jumble - been a while since we actually had a good dose of R/T goodness. Did you see the new morose pic that came out - they have such depressing expressions and they're supposed to be newlyweds! I can understand Remus' gloomy expression, but why does Tonks look just as miserable? Oh well..

It's because she's finally realized that some bright spark on a film set once thought it was a good idea to made DT look as sinister as Voldy - and it really wasn't. ;)

I don't understand why the movies can't even get these little details right - one would think they'd realise that atleast 70% of their audience are people who have actually read the books, and 50% of those are actually people who notice the little things ;)

Ooh, wonderful pics. The underwater ones are so good, and I love Mr Monk Seal chilling out on the beach. I'm sure the local cats made a beeline for you (a catline?) and vice versa, and that graveyard looks ripe for a few ghosts and sinister goings-on even in bright sunlight.
Good to see you got the pink bike/broomstick, Tonks. It's obviously helped with those pesky Meta prompts and I'm wishing you both speed and luck with them.
I didn't know what Shave Ice was but now I want to try some...
