Spontaneous scones are delicious and entirely unexpected

Oct 04, 2010 21:12

Got bored, wanted honey, had nothing to put honey on, baked scones.

Yeah, that's actually pretty normal for me.

On the plus-side, I now have baked gifts for work tomorrow. On the minus-side, one hand has already succumbed to the insidious and intrinsic stickiness of this delicious honey. I fear for the fate of the other one.

shiny!, anti-rant, foodgasm, you mean i get paid to do this?

And now I want scones. Pass the scones and honey please?

Hold on, I'm just attaching the picnic basket to the pigeon. Should be with you soon - I've attached a jet-engine to it.

Much appreciated.

I need it to medicate the rage that's boiling over today's reading for Sexual Orientation and Law. Direct quote from the case I just read:

"the Act's (DADT) purpose is not to restict military members from expressing their sexual orientation."

*looks eagerly for jet-propelled pigeons*

But, but, it's in the fucking title of the act?! No wonder you are boiling with rage. I have but one thing for you

There's absolutely no way that there is a mostly empty squeeze bottle of honey on my coffee table as a result of a night where I had a similar craving, no means to bake scones, and just said "fuck it" and licked it off my fingers. Nuh-uh. None at all. Never happened.

...it was not as sexy as one might imagine. Also, damn, I wish I had more honey. Oh well, just have to settle for beer then.

I discovered some time ago that honey, while delicious, is not something that should be used for anything other than consumption on food.

What is it with honey cravings? Why are they so impossible to resist?

When I'm in that sort of honey mood, I don't bother with scones. I mix flour with water to make a dough and fry it in a little butter.

Actually, now I'm in the mood for honey. I might go to the whole effort to make pancakes.

Sounds good, but I suspect it would be even worse for my diet than the scones. Do you make your pancakes from scratch, then?

Unexpected caek FTW!!! Awesome. And excess for bribery purposes. This plan exceeded ALL expectations.

Any left?

There were, up until my boss had to deal with an utter dipshit. Now there are barely crumbs.
