Manticores and Gregs!

I have a surprise two days off work today SO LET'S HAVE A LITTLE UPDATE, SHALL WE? There aren't as many drawings as ya'll are normally used to but LAY OFF AT LEAST I'M UPDATING, AMIRITE?

I don't draw my main characters outside of the comic very much anymore SO HERE'S A LITTLE GREG ACTION FOR YA'LLS. Secretly I'd like to replace my character page stuff on my website with big drawings of the main characters BUT LIKE THE CHARACTER SHEET IDEA, IT STOPPED AT MERIAL. There's just something about that bitch that makes her hard to draw. But whatever THIS IMAGE IS ABOUT GREG. He is my favorite. Everytime I get to draw him it's like a little mini holiday. He's got a fun face to mess with. He needs to wear his Matthew Barney shirt more often.

You guys saw the finished sketch of the Dumbo Crow up on DA, but here's the whole page with a two other half finished crows. I nearly finished Jim, the only one with a name (JIM CROW. GET IT? OH, 40s DISNEY YOU ARE AWFUL), but decided "screw this" and went for the tall grey one cause he was my favorite.

Some sketches of a DatBT Eleanor costume or a bugbear Kory costume if I decided to make them. The problem is I have no tools that would enable me to make the claws. This is the problem. Aw they're so tinnyyyyyy.

Sfé drew some manticores in her last update and that reminded me of how neat manticores are. Originally Skin Deep manticores were basically red heraldic lions but then I decided that traditional human-faced manticores are also pretty swank, and hell if there can be 8 billion subspecies of gryphons THERE CAN BE TWO SUBSPECIES OF MANTICORE. WHY THE FUCK NOT, AMIRITE? Anyway the vast majority of manticores live in little hidden pockets away from humanity or underground with the Father or just keep to their damned selves, but there are a couple hanging around the various Avalons, and a few live in the Avalon (in the skeezy part, of course. No self respecting mythical creature wants a manticore around). As a sign of good faith most of these manticores have either had their quills removed or, in a few circumstances, had the entire tail removed as to not accidentally murder people with the mega-deadly poison. To make themselves feel better human-faced manticores like to say they're distantly related to Egyptian Sphinxes but this is largely believed to be total hogwash.

I'm a little late on the Fullmetal Alchemist Train that Sfé was all about a little while ago but I have always maintained that Tucker is the neatest character design to come down the pike in ages. He's also surprisingly easy to draw for being an upsidedown-man-dog-bear. He's playing Go Fish. CREEEPY WHISPERY GO FISH.

And Thursday's Skin Deep page. I WORKED REAL HARD ON IT, SO YA'LL BETTER ENJOY THE HELL OUT OF THE SPRINGFIELD AVALON, OKAY? God dayam. Barbary Sheep and Eustace Swiftrunner. That's all I gotta say to get excited about it. It is my duty to make anthro foxes not totally gay on the internet anymore. MAKE ME PROUD, EUSTACE.

AND THAT'S IT. I THINK I MAY PLAY ZELDA FOR AWHILE. WHOO DAY OFF.
