Oh, looooorrdd, I'm gonna be crying my eyes out for the next two weeks over that dream sequence. The first dream sequence left me bawling like a baby too. I have no idea why. Possibly I have father issues.

Raoul Duke is pretty much the best surrogate author/alter-ego/character that ever lived. I want to be just like Hunter S. Thompson when I grow up. Merial is made for that. And man, Jim, how many hours did it take you to put ALL that hair up there? I'm amazed your spine doesn't collapse from the weight.

Coughing up bats. I have no words for that. Just...so unbelievably absurd and hilarious.

This is all just...seriously awesome. Skin Deep is one of my favorite webcomics--heck, one of my favorite comics on the planet!-- and I always love this sketch updates. Viva la Skin Deep!

That bat to the face, complete with teeny 'eep!', has 100% sold me on Myra. Hahahahahahaha, hello new favorite character. Man I will never not love bugbears. Oh Myra.

Likin' the drawings of Bloodcarver and the Grims, dude. Dragons are always awesome, but Bloodcarver gets points for the plate scaling and catfish whiskers. Also hands. I like it when critters have useable hands. And Damien's totally the best Grim. That gross scaly skin underneath all that danged hair.

Man look at those little sphinxes. My favorite is totally the itty-bitty Michelle cub at the bottom, looking away from us. Something about the teeniness and little wings next to big papa sphinx is just awwwwww.

Everyday I am tempted to just throw out all this Skin Deep crap and just make a "Wow bugbears are so spooky right? Hahahaha, those crazy guys ilu."

I think it is really cool how a page of sketches of Michelle and her dad become comic pages. CLEVER, KORY. VERY CLEVER.

Also Jon and Paul- I super love them I will not lie. Jon is looking mega NOT John Lennon here, man. GETTIN' THE LAME OUT, BROUGHT TO YOU BY KORY B. God, note to self: no characters based on bands from the 60s EVER AGAIN I MEAN IT. But I totally share your "smoking characters are the best" weakness. Do any of my characters not smoke? I DON'T THINK I DO.

And Hallowe'en- I'm super excited. Merial's costume is fabulous. And I will never say no to Spike Jim. EVER.

Secretly that page of sketches was made specifically for the comic, but the first time I did it I juts ganked old sketches I had lying around. THRIFTY IN MY MIDDLE NAME.

Re: Jon not looking like John Lennon: I KNOW RIGHT? I was so excited to draw that one cause it was all "OH MAN IT LOOKS LIKE JON BUT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE JOHN LENNON AS A LION THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE." Man I love all my dumb characters that I based off of musicians BUT AT THE SAME TIME MAN IT IS HARD TO GET THE LAME OUT. D: D: D:
