Man so sfemonster came up with this thing where he's gonna post a doodle a day for the entire month of June. I have been really bad at doodling lately (which is a crime because I used to fill up sketchbooks faster than I could buy them), and now...well I haven't been doing a lot of that. This is a fantastic idea, which I'm totally going to steal from you, because I need to draw more. But really, I'm happy you're doing this because I love looking at sketches and author notes and other behind-the-scenes stuff. I'm nosy.

Erin's girl name is the very least of his problems, hahah.

I love author's notes and behind-the-scenes stuff too, and I've been sad that my entire sketchjournal is behind a friendslock out of fear of spoiling the comic. So this is an excuse to have some public sketches, yay! And there's nothing like an internet deadline to make motivate you to do stuff! I'm glad this thing is compelling others to draw!

Gawd I already said it but I AM SO TEMPTED TO JOIN IN. I've been terrible about sketching and drawing lately, considering how I did it NON-STOP CAN'T STOP DRAWING until about a year or so ago it is kind of sad. I hate to be all bandwagony so often but THIS IS A GOOD IDEA AUGH I SHOULD TRY THIS I WILL THINK ABOUT IT.

YAY ALEC AND IKE. I approve greatly, surprise surprise. Man why do I never draw them anymore I kind of love them lots. I like how tiny and scared young!Ike looks, with little things like the raised hair on the spine. I love his teeny little legs and how when he's grown up his midform is like NOTHIN' BUT LEGS. Also: creepy long horse neck. Man a smiling bugbear has got to be one of the most worrisome things out there, I don't even want to think about what a good birthday present for one might be, hahaha.

YAY II: THE SEQUEL, IT'S ERIN AND JOHNNY-A. I think it's been over a year since either of them were drawn? If not it feels like it, boy time flies. Bahaha, Johnny-A is mad and glaring even when he's enjoying himself.

MAN DO IT DO IT. I do nothing BUT DRAW all the time 24/7, but I haven't actually sketched for funsies in ages and I dearly miss it and I always feel like whenever I draw it has to be for a finished product and can't just be a sketch. It's a skill that you super lose if you don't keep up with it, so something like this seems like a way.

The more I mess with Alec the more prone he is of making up loads of dumb nicknames for everyone he talks to. I'm pretty sure he calls Ike "Legs" often. It's funny cause in fullform his legs do not make up 3/4ths of his body as they apparently do in midform. WHUPS. LOLOLOL.

GOD AND IT'S BEEN AGES SINCE I DREW ERIN AND JOHNNY-A. I don't think it's been a full year, but it's been close, oy gavult.

Hahaha oh Ike, do your problems ever end. I guess being a leggy human does not mix well with horsey bits. AWKWARD IS THY NAME. And I'm pretty sure "stops reflecting light" is one of my favorite bugbear things (there are a lot of those).

I LOVE THAT THIS IS TURNING INTO THE TRENDIEST OF TRENDS. Yessss, more doodles for EVERYONE.

I love that bugbears stop reflecting light the nearer it gets to Hallowe'en. That is fantastic. Also: I love how you DRAW their lack-of-reflecting-light. CLASSY.

ALSO: O god, Johnny-A and Erin are my favourites 4LYF. I love how Erin still wears a skirt while he's all Nokk-y, and Johnny-A wears a shirt because "baww don't look at me, I'm hideous". p.s. dear Erin, could your face be ANY MORE ADORABLE? Answer: no. no it could not.

MAN THIS IS THE BEST OF TRENDY TRENDS.

Man true story, most times Erin wouldn't wear that skirt when he's swimmin' cause A) he doesn't care and B) wet jeans are the WORST, but he keeps somethin' on when he's with Johnny-A cause HE IS A GOD DAMNED GENTLEMAN. The skirt is mostly for emergencies when he has to fish-out to avoid having to buy a new pair of pants ALSO BECAUSE IT LOOKS FABULOUS ON HIM, LET'S NOT LIE.

PS. I LOVE THESE KIDS.
