If i've planned it right, this is probably going to be a monster entry, unfit for those with weak eyes or without interest in my day-to-day life. Now that we've got that out of the ( Read more... )

Well, to be fair, 'eth' and 'thorn' wern't really letters, just adapted Nordic Runes that were dropped when no longer needed.

But about that notion of home:

Sometimes when I'm sad or discontent (not rare, I am discontent here quite often), I find myself saying to myself quietly enough that no one can hear me that I want to go home. Home is that place, that shelter, safe from the world. That's why people are so unsettled by disasters, after all.

One time I remember sitting in my room and saying that to myself, 'I'm ready to go home.' I looked up at my room and realised that this is home. But - but it wasn't home. It isn't home. I've lived in Virginia Beach for eight years now and I haven't lived here a moment ( ... )

I want to be an adapted nordic rune....James...the sybol will be a totally bad ass gun and rose...wait...damn.

Home. Interesting topic. I never really feel homesick and I think that a lot of people equate loneliness and homesickness. We think of home as wherever our friends (or lovers) are. Which agrees with your theory, but we only have time to feel lonely when we're alone. So if home is people, then geography is irrelevant...and space time man...well thats just fucked up. I couldn't tell you where I'm going with this, I just wanted to agree with you and say that home truly is not a place. Its people. If you have separate groups of friends, do you have many homes? Will college one day be a home once we've left and we're not with out college homeses every day? who knows....the shadow knows.
