Monday last week I flew out to Denver to visit my friend Adara (adarascarlet ) in what was my first flight in the last ten years and my first trip to Denver, well, ever, and stayed until Saturday evening. While I'd expected to have fun, the trip really shattered my expectations and was really an incredibly good time.

For those of you who don't know this, which ( Read more... )

Glad you had a great time. :)

I made a friend here in LJ too. We've been friends for over six years online and I saw her in person for the first time last year. There's definitely more to LJ than just rants and bad poetry.

Yeah, definitely so. It's funny, I've been a huge internet user since I was about 11 years old, I've known all sorts of people online in all manner of ways, and it took me until I was 23 to actually first meet someone.

And so far, I've never been anything but glad that I did.

I know that with the internet being increasingly interesting, I don't frequent Livejournal as much. I truly do love your writing and your stories sometimes really do bring me about one pixel away from crying. So forgive me when I say that I'm really glad you had a good time in Denver--or at least an interesting experience to say the least. How you feel about Tacoma, I think, is how I feel about the east coast. I can think of a million other places I'd rather be and people I'd rather talk to and I never fully appreciate where I am at any given moment. How daft is that?

Anyway... your posts are so human and I do hope you update a smidge more in 2010, yes? You're stronger than you know.

That's really sweet. Some of your entries are pretty heartbreaking to read at times, too, you know. Thanks for being happy for me (and for even commenting, which means something in itself; the less often you update, the less often people seem to care to reply, even when you're active on your friends page).

I think you're completely right about how similarly we feel about our discontent with where we're stuck at for now. Sometimes it seems like being practically anywhere else would be more interesting, have more to offer, etc, even though a part of me recognizes that likely isn't so absolutely true as it is seductive and romantic. We're just restless souls; livejournal, it often seems, is full of them. It's part of why I love it.

I promise to try and update more in 2010, but life needs to promise to be less repetitive and more interesting, too! Still, I'll do what I can. Thanks for your kind words.

I would tell you that you have no idea how much I miss you, but I think you have some idea since I tell you every day.

Regardless, I'll say it again. I really miss you. It was so great having you here. I just wish there would have been a way to slow down time. I hope we can visit again soon. Who knows? Maybe someday I'll be in a position to fly out there and get a hotel for a week. (if that ever happens, I'll probably see a lot of flying pigs from the airplane window)

I should have stolen one of your shirts.

Aww. You know that I really miss you too. We had such a great time together, and just like you said before, until I'd gotten there, I wasn't prepared to miss you this much. We'll work out another visit soon enough, though. Okay, well, hardly soon enough. But soon.

And next time, we'll definitely remember to steal each others' garments. ;)
