and don't worry about the `coldness` Your body is evolved to look after itself when faced with violence. I think we are taught to fear the side of our nature that is self-preserving. I felt quite disgusted and deeply ashamed of myself last year when I beat that drunk guy to the floor who was attacking my boyfriend, yet I should not have felt that way. its a force inside of us that we would be poorer without. After all it would be wrong not to intervene if you saw these 3 men jump somebody else who was totally undeserving of an attack, you have to give the same fairness to your own body as you would to someone elses.
I know what you mean though. This aggressive streak in my that bursts out of me when it is needed feels alien and uncontrolled, but I know that side of my nature, if carefully tethered at all other times, will be a friend to me if Im ever truly attacked.
