I don't use this much anymore, and I don't plan on starting again...actually I'd kinda like to make my own blog for my hobbies, etc. I feel the need to write on this subject though simply because whenever something provokes my philosophical thoughts like this, it's therapeutic for me to write down those thoughts in the hopes of provoking the same

I would agree that the school needs to put this issue in the context that they might be looking at 100 dead kids in their classrooms and CNN doing flyover shots of the school. However, the kid had to have known that should he go through with his plan, he'd end up dead. Shot by the cops either in a firefight or by a sniper. They end that way, most of the time. So in a way, this is a case about teen suicide

Is this getting national coverage? I've only been paying attention to the local since it's near here.

There's nothing ever wrong with a dialog about suicide...maybe this will be able to put a face on the issue for a lot of people so that they see it has a real concept and take it more seriously.

If it is getting national coverage, its not on any news sources I read. Of course, I watch the local news and then get the Sunday times so...

I haven't seen anything nationally about it at all. Yeah I'd be more than a little pissed if I had a kid in that school too.
