I would say you definately have to be more mindful of who you choose if you were open to the idea of having a female roommate. Personally I feel that its great especially when it comes to dividing chours. I don't mind cleaning the place, but i am no good at mantenance if things break and I hate to take out the garbage. However, I also feel it is important to pick someone that you are confident that you would not have any sexual tension with. Bc then things just get icky. Maybe try a girl you have been friends with forever, neither of you are the others type and maybe even if she had a bf that would help too. haha, tall order huh? So i can see why it is less of a hassle to just stick with males roomies.
well im physically a girl, so im kind of biased. It really depends on the person. I myself have a problem living with females sometimes, because i absolutely hate the whole "im allowed to be a bitch because of pms" thing. Male roomates are easier to get along with for guys for the simple fact that theres no confusion. It probably would just depend on the people you chose to live with, and how well they can co-exist.
Don't go for living with someone who is never there, that usually ends up just being annoying and a waste. You're a smart guy, especially when it comes to people, you should have an easy time thinking to yourself "i can be their roomate"
As long as everyone has personal space, it should be fine.
