Game description:
::attractive Asian woman news anchor speaks::
"Day 3 of the silence from the Mars Portman Colony continues. Thus far all attempts to contact the colony appear to have failed. Despite growing concerns, General Dynamics has insisted that the communication transfer is merely down for repair and will be restored within a couple of days. Some analysts are already drawing connections with the disaster on Mercury earlier this year, and members of Congress are calling for a special investigation by the NSA. Our prayers are with the families, and we will bring you more as the story continues."
::she turns to another camera and refocuses::
"In other news, Feratsuno Corporation's release of the new Fera 4.0 broke all previous records in sales of a communication device. Stores were reportedly sold out in 1.2 hours Earth Standard. Several groups are picketing Feratsuno stores, claiming that the surgically-installed devices amount to mind control. Feratsuno spokesman Hideo Takahashi reiterated that the Fera device has undergone extensive testing and is FDA approved."
Setting:
This is game 2 of a series inspired by The Laundry books by Charles Stross. Reading at least one of the books before the game is HIGHLY recommended. The setting is a near future alternate reality where people have started to colonize other planets in our solar system.
Character Instructions:
PCs are an investigative team with the Black Chamber, the US-based analog to the The Laundry in the UK. PCs will be techno-mages and military personnel with experience in occult invasions, or other staff as needed for the mission. Characters will be made with input from the GM before the con.
