New job, same old .....?

Lots of stuff has happened in the past month and I've been meaning to make a nice big, well-written post about all of it. I always mean to do that. It never happens. So here's the short of it. I quit my consulting job at the end of November and took a new job that's close to home. No more traveling! Yay ( Read more... )

Yeah, I actually have a friend who works for them in the IT department. There are about 10 or 11 of them total for the entire organization and apparently they work insane hours during the season, but it sounds pretty cool. He's going to let me know if anything pops up, so we'll see if anything ever happens. I'm not crossing my fingers.

Oh, about that Peru stuff, a guy I work with went there back in September. His trip report (written by another co-worker as the description was given) was something like: he's very tan & relaxed, he recommends taking a 3-week vacation at first opportunity, went to Peru, reached 17,000 feet, said it does strange things to your body and mind, we suspect he chewed on too many cocoa leaves, showered by jumping in the river, no hot water or light, got leeches, sounds like fun
