It's a compression strength test. You just squeeze a concrete column until it explodes, then write down the amount of force that caused it to explode. Fun times. (did you watch all the way to the end?)

Ah, yeah, I did. I just didn't know what made it happen (i.e., the squeezing part). That is cool. :)
