I have always known this as well from about the same age. I was disgusted yesterday when on Good Morning America they had a "survival guide to black friday." They told you what to wear and how to shop and how to spread out effectivly across your town. They said you should carry a bag with you and have water in there, not to mention a power bar so you don't have to stop for lunch!
