Woman: I have this check. Can I give it to someone?
Me: You can just stick it in our inbox right there.
Woman: I'd feel more comfortable giving it to another person.
Me: You can give it to me, but I'm just going to stick it in our inbox.
Woman hands me check.
I stick check in inbox and walk away.

Reminds me of the medical student I once had the pleasure of knowing. At the time, all of the Blood Gas results were handwritten by the respiratory tech who took the test and placed on a green sheet in the back of the chart. One day, a med student came up to my friend Carol who was working as Charge Nurse that day.

"Where are the blood gas results?" He said while tapping the computer screen.

"They're on the respiratory sheet in the back", Carol then opens the chart and displays the results.

"But I want them on the computer". Carol just blinked at him a few times and explained to him again, that they werent stored that way.

"But I need to see them on the computer." Carol nodded, stood up, opened the metal binders and took out the sheet with the results....

and taped them to the monitor before sitting back down. "There, they're on the computer"

He quietly sat down and wrote them down and left without saying another word
