Yo Personality: Though, as a silent protagonist, his personality is decided through player decisions, as far as non-game official sources go, he does in fact have one. As the field leader of the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad, he is capable of making calm, rational decisions, and always exhibits the responsibility expected of him. He is often unfazed by things that would cause others distress, keeping cool and collected no matter the situation. As a result, he may seem "perfect" to others. Although he may not show much expression on his face, and doesn't always have a whole lot to say, he is shown to be a very thoughtful and understanding person, one on whom those around him can count on, no matter what.
As one may guess, a major part of his character involves his interactions with various people. Most of the time, he goes around talking to people, gaining new friends while deepening his bonds with current ones. He acts as something of a pillar of support for his friends, helping them through whatever difficulties they are facing. This is achieved by listening to their worries, giving them helpful advice or even just being there for them. And while it's true that these bonds give him strength, he also genuinely cares for them, and won't abandon them, ever. To Minato, there is nothing more important to him than his friends and, despite being a silent protagonist in a Megaten game, nothing is more apparent than this fact.
Altogether, he's something of a jesus, really. He helps those who ask for it, no question, no complaints, and is simply just a good person at his core. Seriously though, his ultimate Persona is "Messiah". Great subtlety there, ATLUS.
History: There's an article on the
Megaten Wiki. SPOILERS of course. He is taken after the events of Persona 3 ("The Journey/Episode Yourself").
Strengths: Variable. He weilds the power of "Persona", the manifestation of his psyche. As a Persona User with the Wild Card ability, he can have any strengths at any time, depending on the Personas in reserve. In other words, he can set things on fire, freeze things, call down lightning, make green wind appear in the interior of a giant tower of doom, CALL DOWN ALMIGHTY LIGHT FROM THE HEAVENS, so on. He can also be resistant or even immune against certain effects, depending on the Persona. Also depending on the Persona, his physical strengths, weaknesses, and aptitude in magic will also vary.
Personality-wise, he is calm, and cool, completely unfazed by green sky and random floating coffins. This is probably his greatest strength as it allows him to think rationally in otherwise desperate situations like omg this train is gonna crash in like TEN SECONDS WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE. Yeah, he's kinda badass.
Weaknesses: Again, variable. Just as his Wild Card allows him to have any strength at any given moment, he can also have any weakness. Certain Personas may have multiple weaknesses, while others may have none at all, however. Same with his physical and magical paramters, as mentioned in the 'Strengths' section.
Personality-wise... ... He's jesus okay. No particular weaknesses.
First Person Sample:
Is any one there? ... ... Guess not.
[looks out at a nearby window into the vast emptiness of space]
... This... isn't a dream. ... ...
[... closes his eyes for a bit, nods once, and opens them again]
... Alright. Lets keep looking around.
Third Person Sample:
"This is..."
When he awoke, he immediately realized something was off. Of course, the unfamiliar surroundings he found himself in might have tipped him off. Indeed, he had no idea where he was, or how he got there.
He checked his phone. No reception.
In other words, he was in an unfamiliar place with no means of outside contact. Furthermore, he had no idea how he got there in the first place. In any case, it was a worrisome situation.
He pocketed his phone. In his mind was neither worry nor panic, nor even disbelief. True, it was an abnormal situation, but panicking wouldn't have helped in the least. The important thing was to figure out his bearings, as well as find out of there was anyone else in the vicinity. At any rate, he was used to these kinds of situations by now.
"For now, I guess I should try looking around..."
Without hesitance, he started walking. It was almost eerie how calm he was, despite the ordeal placed before him. And, when the revelation came...
"... ... Huh."
It hadn't taken him long to find a window. He knew something was odd about the place, but this pretty much put icing on the cake. Well, not that it mattered much.
His sight was met with an infinite blackness decorated with scattered fragments of light. If the gravity of the situation had and impact, anyone else would surely have been crushed without mercy. Such an event was completely prepostrous. Without a doubt, this would have to be a dream.
"... ..."
However, this wasn't a dream. From the moment he woke up, he understood this as fact. This was reality, and the only thing he could do was accept it. The only thing he could do was continue on.
And at any rate, at least he knew where he was now.
More or less.
