i was just going to ask you if you read that one. also recently in the new yorker was a short story of a kidney shaped stone and the loss of three loves.
i really enjoyed the kidney shaped stone, but i'll have to check out the loss of three loves. i'm not really decided yet on the shinagawa monkey story. it reeks of the middle period a lot of authors reach when they have early exposure to international success. here's to hoping he doesn't take the next step to writing a nine part chronicle set in a sci-fi/fantasy version of japan complete with asimov and p.k. dick references.
garr. i have been thinking about murakami recently, and i've found that these days, i like him less than i used to. i guess i've just grown weary. i've read a few books and a few short stories written by him... and i've no hunger for reading any more. i wouldn't mind re-reading what i've already read, of course..
so you've finished "kafka on the shore-ah"? tell me about it! (in person) jean has read it, too.
