Great snapshot! Both Fraser and Ray are very much themselves. I like it a lot.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. And also really surprised that I got it posted on time. :)

He was bone-tired, but his fatigue was bathed in a wash of contentment that bordered on joy.
What a gorgeous description! I treasure a memory of that exact feeling.

And then you had Dief sulking because he can't guard the infant, and Fraser with his heart over-flowing because Ray declared himself Northern.

Can I give you a hug? I really want to, right now. I'm getting all teary.

Sweet and really fun to read. I love stories where I can hear the voices and you've hit it.

This is a great compliment for me because those kind of stories are my favourites, too. Thank you!

I figure that at one point Ray is bound to stick Smarties in the bannock. Kind of like chocolate chip scones. :)

The first section is beautiful, and the rest of it is just wonderfully domestic and sweet.

Of course he was. But he had a reason.

Ha, of course you think so, Fraser.

This, right now, standing with Ray in the house they'd built together and hearing him declare himself Northern, this was one of those times.

I love that in all of what Ray says, the Northern part is what Fraser picks up on, and that it means so much to him.

I wanted to keep the story soft and quiet, but Fraser would have no part of it.

Fraser is a sentimentalist, for sure.
