Oh, this is so sad! They never had a chance to be together. :(

I always loved their relationship in the show and it was great to read more about it.

She deliberately looked away, not caring that it hurt him. He was hurting her; it only seemed fair.

Loved this line, it really rang true of how you can feel when you're in love.

It *is* sad, and totally not where I expected to go with this quote, but I was letting it percolate, and suddenly Irene was just there.

I always loved their relationship in the show and it was great to read more about it.
This made me very happy, as I was really concerned. Writing about a little seen character is harder than I expected, and I'm very glad to hear it felt like it worked.
