Today I came across this video of Will Wright demonstrating Spore at last year's Game Developers Conference. The video is long, but highly worth watching if you're interested in games. I'm totally blown away by the scope of the game - it looks like they've succeeded in making a simulator covering the development of life from microscopic organisms

While I've become rather jaded over the Sims franchise, I've been salivating over Spore for quite a while now, after they first announced the idea behind it. It just sounds soooo cool.
