I like to think so! It's certainly been better for me than slacking off would be. Although seeing how many slackers I've worked with, maybe not as much as I like to think.
I totally applaud your work ethic! I've found that I'm never going to work any less hard, so I'd rather work for myself than anyone else. I admire your ability to put in the hours and take pride in your job - bravo!
various other points that make me go "Really? You have to be told this? Give me a fucking break." Surprising, isn't it? These are things that should be obvious in the world around us all, and for those who claim they aren't... I tend to think that either they're spoiled, or thy grew up always looking for an excuse to do the minimum.
Many jobs are thankless, and it costs me nothing at all to tell somebody they've done a great job. Or to tell their boss and maybe help get them a raise. I've always thought that was true, even in a competitive work environment. Wouldn't we want someone to notice, if WE were doing a great job? And if, one hopes, word gets back to that other person... praise that is volunteered to a third party is often more real that praise offered first-hand to the person involved. At least, it sure works that way with teenagers. :)
Please, continue to be awesome. The world needs more Phils!
I think the world might actually implode (or explode) if there was more than one of me. Heh. But thank you so much for saying so; it feels good.
I appreciate the other comments, too. I just don't understand people who slack off all the time and think it's no big deal. Means a lot of half-assed work....which then makes for angry clients. Annoying!
Anyhow, thanks for coming by; I appreciate it very much.
