LJ Idol, Week 30: "Playing to Win"

I'm a sucker for a feel-good story. I admit it. I'm cynical and sarcastic, but I'm a sarcastic cynic with the damp, squishy heart of a romantic.

You are absolutely 100 percent right! BTW, I write the "America's Got Talent" recaps for Yahoo! TV, and I correctly identified him as a countertenor (http://voices.yahoo.com/unexpected-beauty-americas-got-talent-austin-auditions-11432530.html) I can't take credit for knowing the term off-hand, but I knew that soprano wasn't correct, so I looked up the male vocal range on Google and found my answer. It's amazingly sad how lazy some writers are.

Isn't it, though? I'm fairly lazy as a researcher myself, but even I know better than to just GUESS at an answer if I don't know much about the topic in question. In this case, though, as a music fanatic I already knew the right answer so I didn't even have to research. Go me.

(Ugh, you had to watch the whole show? I'm sorry. It sounds like there was more crap than good stuff).

Right on. And the thing that reconciles me to our not-so-positive experience with AGT is that some people who genuinely deserve and need it will received that coveted "exposure" that perhaps can change their lives or the lives of watchers.

Yeah! I hope Andrew gets some of that exposure. Like to see him become a huge success; he's definitely got the pipes and the stage presence, if he can just get some training.
