I've been on a lot of vacations with my parents, but only one of them affected me to the point where I wanted to change my entire lifestyle

I usually just travel to see family, but I did go see Old Faithful once as a kid. It was sorta not as exciting as my parents thought it was, but still pretty cool; and I absolutely loved the painted pools in that same park. Also the wildlife was great! So if you're taking recommendations, that park would be mine. (I want to say it was called Yellowstone, but I don't quite remember now.)
Yellowstone is indeed where Old Faithful resides, and it is *definitely* on our list of places we want to visit. The problem with Yellowstone is that because it's so far north and they get so much snow, it is usually not open to the public during spring break, which is when we take many of our trips (because Leslie is off from school that week). We are planning to check it out during summer sometime, probably the year after next.
Small campers are definitely easier to deal with than a full-blown Class A types (bus-size), but they don't quite offer the same sense of luxury that the larger ones do. Of course, they don't eat gas like the large ones do, either, or take up so much space. :)
They definitely don't provide luxury. Ours was very cramped. One positive side effect was that my parents bought a 1973 Chevy Caprice Classic to tow it (since they both had compact cars), and I got to use it for my car. It was the late '80s, but it was a big, outdated dinosaur, and I loved it!
