I was born in LA and I left home at 16 for Sacramento. Somewhere in the middle there, I grew up in a tiny dead town full of fields and churches called Modesto...it's one of those towns that Perry Ferrel appropriately called  the 'armpit of California'. So sorry to hear of your loss. The veil seems open longer than normal this year and I keep hearing of people slipping through. Cheers to a better 2011
