LJ, for me, is like that loyal great old friend who I know I should visit more often but always manage to shamefully forget ( Read more... )

You're terrible, Oscar *laughs* No matter how many times you come back to LJ on your apologetic hands and knees, you just keep neglecting it. Cracks me up. How are you, your lovely wife, and your two kiddos?

Any credit for coming back once a year expressing the same lament? I have a better feel for my writing and in general for what I want to say; something that I never really had a grasp of before without falling into mimicry of other people's thoughts or simply being confessional and sentimental.

But you're right-- it is really laughable that I kid myself and others that I have any sort of investment in my lj. My facebook however gets a decent amount of action... the ease of the medium helps with the content inertia.

As for my family, we are doing well. The boys are mostly a joy to be around but raising a family at this point in life doesn't give me much a chance to write and read as much as I am wont to do personally.

How are you guys doing? Still in the PNW?

I just read your latest entry and it answered my location question. Congrats on finally establishing yourselves in a neighborhood and community. It sounds much like a neighborhood here in Wichita (it's called College Hill) where it seems all the cool, young Catholic families live or desire to live: 1940s-50s homes and old mansions intermixed, a thriving parish with school, good people, good history and all the charm one can ask for in the middle of Kansas. Having rented a home there during our first year but buying a home elsewhere thereafter, we no longer live in College Hill, but your description of your neighborhood seems familiar.
