Well today was the funeral. It was very sad-it's crazy seeing someone that is the same age as you and that you have known since middle school dead. I also saw a lot of faces that I haven't seen since graduation. It was nice to be home. Its just a damn shame it took a funeral to do so ( Read more... )

Darius, I'm sorry for your loss. Everyone has to leave us eventually. You are still here, and that brings happiness to my heart. Remember that you have control over your own destiny.

You make a very good point, Darius. Everyone needs to be reminded of that every now and then.... and live it every day.

I'm sorry about your loss Darius. You know you have someone to talk to about it, grief counseling and bereavement will eventually be my job. I promise I won't charge you tho...j/k...but seriously, at least you have the realization about how important life is and to live it with no regrets. That is the most important thing I've learned from experiencing the loss of my nanny. Just feel blessed that your friend had an impact on your life and his life wasn't a wasted one. Love you lots, ~Julia

Hearing about this definately brought an end to a very shitty couple of weeks...my grandfather died, my aunt was diagnosed with cancer (this is her second bout with cancer now), and then I hear of an old high school acquaintance had died in a car wreck. WTF?!?! I know how you feel about seeing someone you've known since middle school die...remember Patrick Little? I must say that you are lucky because the lesson that you have learned is that life is short and to live it to the fullest...my lesson has been that I am prime candidate for cancer, heart attack, diabetes, and some other not-so-nice health problems. Take care bud, we'll have to get together for some drinks when we're both in c-town.
