Whenever she beats up Damon, God saves a kitten.

THIS, SO MUCH. I am incapable of ever liking Damon because of how he treated Caroline in S1. They can make him atone forever and ever and I'll never forgive him. *holds a gruge*

And Ric, yes! I heart him so, and I'm afraid for him too.

Also, Matt. The actor gives me Teddy Dunn flashbacks, he's SO HORRIBLE AT IT. And ever since everybody else turned supernatural, he's basically useless to the narrative... which probably means he's safe from doom, ugh.

Hahaha, I don't think I have any strong opinions on Elijah either way. I mean, when he showed up last episode I had to IMDb him because I couldn't remember his name, so. Sorry. *g*

It's like the Matt Damon effect on Ben Affleck.

HAHAHAHA, thanks for the actual LOLing! But yeah, I like Damon best when he's with Alaric too. In fact, lately, those are the only scenes I think Ian S. is having legit fun with.

Maybe it's because I've become an old lady, but most of the time, I wanna sit Elena down and either shake her or say OH, HONEY, NO. until it sticks.

I read an interview with Plec the other day that she said exactly that about Matt -- he's the human one, so he's the audience's avatar, or something like that, and just. NO. Give me Jeremy back and send Captain Cardboard away, plis.

Oh, I didn't remember Elijah's name, but I did remember his hair for it is AWESOME. *g*

Caroline is the best - I wish they'd give her more to do inside the main action!

I'm thinking they're gonna do some Caroline/Klaus shenanigans soon, 'cause that scene of theirs in the episode before last had A LOT of anvils. I'm gonna be dreading every minute of it though. :/

True, they seem to be integrating her more, but I am of two minds with it: a> Klaus is a horrible "person" and does not deserve her but b> they had so much chemistry in that one scene that I am conflicted.

I'll see how it turns out - I mean, despite Damon & Elena's chemistry, I still hate them together :P

Yeah, I dislike dude who plays Klaus so hard I don't really see the chemistry there. And I was buying his act too, going to Carol Lockwood for support, then offering to save Caro to get access to Sheriff Forbes' house -- even saving Caroline meant having hold over her as well as controlling Tyler even more. But then he got all woobie and emo and manpaining all over and I spent the entire scene rolling my eyes and being EXTREMELY AFRAID that Caroline is gonna be The Girl That Redeems Him, and UUUGH, PLEASE NO. That would make me hate Caro, and I really don't want that to happen. :/

I'll see how it turns out - I mean, despite Damon & Elena's chemistry, I still hate them together :P

I have no 'ship leanings re: Elena, but I do think their chemistry got waaays better once the actors started banging each other. Hee.

I liked this show a lot better when I was marathoning it. I almost want to just hold off and watch the rest of season 3 in one go, because I feel like it's not nearly as much fun week-to-week as I thought it might be.

I'm sort of wary of getting invested in Tyler's arc this season, because it really seems like they're setting him up for the inevitable doom. Ever since he turned hybrid, I just don't see him getting out of this season alive. Or, you know, that could just be me really really not wanting them to kill off Alaric.

Also, OMG Klaus just does. not. shut. up. I'm definitely ready for the next big bad at this point, because I'm so tired of listening to him.

Ha. I miss this. It's so much easier to talk about TV in more than 140-character bursts. :D

Yeah, I watched 35 episodes in about four days, the ridiculous avalanche of gotchas! does work better like that, instead of having actual time to think things through between episodes. For me, the Salvatore vs. Originals storyline demands that you actually DON'T think about it, not even for a second, because the character motivations on each side are slim to none.

I don't get the hybrid!Tyler storyline, really. I mean, all it did was take him *and* Caroline apart from the Inner Circle of Main Storyline. So yeah, I'm terrified for him, 'cause I can only see this going one of two ways -- he's the one to kill Klaus to break the sire bond [and, well, never. gonna. happen], or he breaks the bond and Klaus kills him next. :/

Ha. I miss this. It's so much easier to talk about TV in more than 140-character bursts. :D

Right? I need more genre shows to be awesome and have pretty people for me to 'ship so I can write about it! TVD will have to do for now.

You know I disagree with you on almost everything because I pink, puffy heart TVD like no other, but one thing we can safely agree on is that Caroline is the BEST character on the show. Also, Ric is awesome and I like his pseudo!dad thing with Jeremy but with Elena, I always feel like they're going to makeout any second. But what had me absolutely rolling here at my desk where I should be working was this: when Ian Sommerfaces widens his eyes so hard I fear they're gonna pop out LMFAO forever. I HATE when he does that. And now that I'm rewatching from the beginning, I noticed that he did not do it at first so I blame it on the popularity going to his head and him insisting on overacting. So thanks for that laugh, Tissa. (And because I'm a nice person, I'll use a Tyler/Caroline icon and not a Klaus/Caroline one because when it comes to this show I'm a shipper whore).

Wow, I'm glad I never got the creepy vibe from Alaric and Elena, theirs is one of my favorite relationships on this show. I only ever get the Daddy-daughter vibe! Yikes.

And hee, but you can use any icon you want, because I have about 4 different scripts to block images I don't like in an instant. My internets are REALLY safe for my eyes. *g*

Do you know, I bought season 1 aaaages ago, just so I'd have it when I finally got around to trying for round 2 and nothing is making me interested in watching. Okay, this post is a tiny bit, but then I remember how I'm totally into those books I'm reading right now and how I'd much rather read than waste time on a show I found lacking the first time around.

The worst part is that when my reading jag wears off (usually early spring, though it sometimes lasts 'til early summer), the shows I'm dying to catch up on are kdramas. So I'm not sure I'll ever get around to TVD.

Yeah, I had stopped somewhere around episode 115, and the only thing that got me through finishing S1 was the crapload of coding I had to do for work, so I was only paying half-attention up 'til mid-S2 [if you ask me what happened in the S1 finale, I honestly only remember the Caroline-related stuff]. But then I started really liking the show on account of Caroline becoming even more awesome than I already thought she was, and Tyler's storyline taking a really interesting turn.
