Went to see The Avengers for the sixth time today, and I had a couple of thoughts during the movie, as one is wont to do when one is reciting the lines along with instead of paying attention. The brain wanders and well, this is what happens.
1.
Sleight of hands
For all of Loki being the God of Mischief and Trickery and whatnot, it's actually Tony that does the best kind of illusionist crap in this movie: once when he arrives at the Helicarrier and is overly obnoxious and silly while planting the Jarvis!bug on the SHIELD computers; and then later at Stark Tower, when all talk about threatening Loki and having a drink is just so he can put the bracelet thingys for the Mark 7.
2.
Smoke & Mirrors
There are an insane amount of scenes in this move wherein we see stuff through mirrors or glass surfaces. There is glass everywhere, actually. Glass windows, glass walls, windshields, a glass prison, an entire humongous ship covered in mirrors, so on and so forth.
From the beginning of the movie right up to the big battle, we see A LOT of stuff either through mirrors, or from the outside looking in into some sort of glass surface. And then it changes a bit during the battle, and we start seeing things from the inside out, mostly from the trapped civilians' POVs.
And then Our Heroes start winning the war, and the glass walls come tumbling down.
Anyway.
