this song brings me right back to that summer between graduation and high school.
what an amazing/weird/great/interesting time in my life.

We weren't in love, oh no, far from it...
We were just young and restless and bored...
And we'd steal away every chance we could
I used her, she used me - but neither one cared.

And oh, the wonder!
We felt the lightning and we waited on the thunder

I awoke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain't it funny how the night moves
When you just don't seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves with autumn closing in.

god. the memories.

don't you wish
[that sometimes]
you could just go back to when you didn't know what you know now??

P.S. - Mardi Gras was pretty damn amazing:
friends. SpanishTown. roadtrip. Endymion. cold weather. Bourbon. hand grenades.
huge black woman grabbing my ass. dancing in the street. Thoth. Bacchus.
proclaiming that i was a "child of God, thank you!" getting lost in the crowds.
good food. and Wendy's. making friends with everyone around me. finding a "good" place to park.
running randomly into missed friends. huge ass beers.
getting lots of beads. and fighting for them.
went with 75 bucks. left with ONE dollar.

one last thing!! - yet another show has recently gained my obsession.
with the purchase of my TiVo, i have rediscovered SCRUBS all over again.
Zach Braff - you are forever my hero!
i'm no superman either.

current mood: nostalgic
current music: bob seger & the silver bullet band night moves
