Whatever you had to do to get this written, this friend thanks you!

*fans self* Yeah, there is something about a lot of the combinations in Tate and Tennant characters that lends to explosive and hot moments. This was no exception! A nice reprieve, before the storm hits. And hits hard, I imagine.

I half wanna see the Doctor's face fall at the sight of Peter's ring on her finger. But I more want him to know just how much he's made Donna suffer, and that he's lost all right to be her protector. Peter's got that role now, and he's not letting go.

*hugs you for posting*

As always, you're too kind.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and, again, as always, I wish I could write faster. I just can't. I get idea after idea, but somehow, when the time comes to flesh them out from outline to finished form, it takes me forever to get it right to my satisfaction. Serenity'sLady always helps with the proofing, which is much appreciated, but she's embarrassingly prompt, so all the delay is my fault entirely.

Ah, DT and CT....just out the two of them together and watch the sparks fly. Quick and witty, just alike enough to be compatible and just different enough to be challenging, these two are a constant source of joy to behold and to write for.

Yeah, Peter is seriously considering matrimony now. It's just a matter of time before he asks and since it's Peter, the time and place have to be perfect. But as a good friend of mine likes to say, there's always time enough for everything to head straight to hell in a hand basket.

Well done on the description of the distinction between Donna's fights with him and his parents' (and his first wife). Donna is fighting on his behalf, afraid for his sake. She used to do that for the Doctor, but he's lost all his rights concerning her (if he had any to begin with). Realizing that, I guess they moved on to other activities.

"...talented tongue and dancing digits," that was just so gorgeous! I like the way you said that!

Peter is thinking seriously moving on to get a ring on her finger, and soon! He really doesn't want to lose her.

Thanks for posting!

Thank you- we're the sum of our past experiences and I think Peter has learned from what he's seen and done in his life. As for the Doctor and his 'rights', our Madman with a Box isn't out of the game yet.

Ah, you liked that phrase, eh? Well, I owe thanks to SerenitysLady for that lovely little phrase. She added 'talented' to the description and the rest is obviously true, so hey- what can I say? It works for me.

I'm debating how exactly Peter's going to go about this, but I guarantee, I'm gonna have fun writing it.

Take care and thanks, as always, for taking the time to respond.

I mentally cheered when Peter's thoughts went to marriage. I think, for all the insecurity reasons you convery so well at the very end here when Donna bursts into tears, that she needs the security of the ring on her finger.

>>
Peter Carlisle knows, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Donna Noble is his, and his alone.

LOVED this, because it's so true, and has been there in the background of this whole story. The Doctor's abandonment didn't free Donna emotionally, but the journey in this story HAS, finally, and it's glorious.

Ah, insecurity- it makes us all do crazy things. I think he's as insecure as she is, given his past track record and they both crave a symbol to make what they feel more concrete and real.

Donna's finally able to move out of the shadow of her missing past and Peter is just the man with which to build her future.

Thanks for taking the time to read and going to the trouble of commenting. As always, a pleasure to hear from you.
