Exactly! The Doctor has become as obsessed as some of us fans have felt Rose was in getting back to him, ignoring what he told her to do in Doomsday. I can't help but wonder what the Meta-Crisis Doctor would say if he knew what was going on.

The Doctor is only walking himself into something more than a slap. Donna is going to tear him a new one and drop him like a hot cake, but not before deflating him and making him see sense. And I almost expect this him to die in the process. Because she could say, "Where did my best friend go? You're no longer him, and it has nothing to do with you changing bodies. You've become the monster and you're responsible."

Love, we're all here. I look daily for updates from any friends, and ones from you are the biggest treat. This is definitely gearing up for one major confrontation, and I'm on tinderhooks waiting for it. Good luck, and may the Doctor learn in time to regain a friend even if she'll never travel with him again.

The Doctor likes to be at the center of things, the center of attention. he always has. For him not to be the center of Donna's existence or her mind, for those memories to be fading on their own.... while it means the danger to Donna is passing, which is a very good thing, it means his centrality in her existence is also passing. And the Doctor can't stand that! He is a sick individual, especially when left on his own. The closest he ever came to normal was with Donna, and that's because Donna never took his nonsense ( ... )

I love this fic and I love this meta SO much.

The Doctor likes to be at the center of things, the center of attention. he always has. For him not to be the center of Donna's existence or her mind, for those memories to be fading on their own.... while it means the danger to Donna is passing, which is a very good thing, it means his centrality in her existence is also passing. Politically-incorrect possessive!Doctor is sooo my cup of tea. That said, a dressing down from Jack for his post-meta-crisis behavior (and possibly a forthcoming Donna lecture too!) is SOOO insanely satisfying to read here. Never thought a fic could bring me so full circle that I would prefer Donna NOT to return to the Doctor, but this one has done it for sure. DonnaxPeter 4eva!

Were still here after 50 chapters because we like your story and writing.

11 is delusional. I think that Donna will slap him into his next regeneration if she's separated from Peter. And I do think that if he kidnaps her she will fight her way back to earth and her love. 11 is nothing like 10.
And 10 might have been paralysed when the meta-crisis happened to Donna and not being able to cure her, but that doesn't mean that Donna will forgive him. She's happy now and won't give that up.

Nope, Donna's happy now. She's found someone who adores her and she loves him back just as much. I feel so much for the Doctor, but he had his chance and ironically, that time has passed. Ten's never been able to deal with his limitations. Think about it- even as far back as Voyage of the Damned, he lost his temper and shouted "I can do anything!" when he wasn't able to bring Astrid back, and I think those feelings of helplessness have just festered.

Thank you again for reading and for commenting. I am humbled by your patience with me and this story.

I've already told you most of my observations but I agree with everyone about Eleven's obsession. I have a question, though. Does this take place in his timeline before or after the departure of the Ponds? If it's after, then some of it makes sense ( ... )

I agree Donna is compassionate (as I said above), but when the Doctor gets really out of line, she did give him a slap to stop his train of thought and get him back to reality. She will probably at this point refuse to travel with him, at least on a long-term basis, although she had promised to stay with him "forever." The question is, will the Doctor agree to her terms? If he is stupid about it and demands all or nothing, then nothing is what he will get. Peter, once he realizes the situation, might be willing (if not happy) to have them resume their friendship.... but only if the Doctor stops his obsessive behavior. If he sees that the Doctor will be a danger to Donna, he will not allow Donna to be harmed. End of story!

So the Doctor needs to change his behavior if he is to have any hope.
