Sounds to me like councils have no idea when it's a good idea to do roadworks...

Have worked out why it was all broken and I was (fairly predictably) being really dim. Do you get this problem? That you're fine on the complicated bits but get really hung up on really basic stuff like mental blocks about how to find the eigenvalues of a 2x2 matrix, or rearrange an algebraic equation?
