AU Background: Pretttttty much what's been stated in the above link! But alas, I shall summarize and add:

During one of his many excursions as a naval general, it's no surprise that Orphaner Dualscar eventually met Marquise Spinneret Mindfang. And it was hate at first sight. Their hate for each other spanned 'a many oceans and sweeps, with the Orphaner often always getting the short-end of the stick. Your rival having an omniscient cueball so as to gain unlimited knowledge from tends to do that; leaving him as frustrated and hateful as ever. In fact, he loathed her so much that he went as far as to ensure that no one else would have the chance to take her from him.

Now, Mindfang had the classy habit of manipulating lowblooded slaves in front of her rival in order to spurn more hate. Through his disgust, it seemed to work- though, not quite to her favor in the long-run. Mindfang and the slave girl begin to develop a more significant relationship with each other, and Dualscar happened to notice this. He had the slave assassinated: thus ending the kismesissitude. Despite knowing that this outcome was inevitable on account of his actions, he still went through with it- showing just how much he loathed the idea of her being with someone else, even if in an entirely different quadrant.

But he didn't stop there, oh no. The Orphaner then proceeded to raise the reward for her capture (dead or alive) and then go to the Grand Highblood himself in order to strike a deal. Dualscar offered him her whereabouts so that he may better pursue her using resources outside his grasp. The Grand Highblood accepted.

Not without a price, though. Dualscar's sense of humor is quoted to be "dreadful", and when you have to tell a joke to a clown, it better be a good one. It is only through Mindfang's journal that she as well as the readers may speculate as to what happened to him- though chances are, he was killed. The only reason one may think otherwise is due to where his gun and his former rival's gun were found (on the same "ghost ship"). Otherwise, it's pretty safe to assume that the general was slain in his failure to tell a humorous joke.

Personality: Dualscar is basically a Huge Asshole. Seriously. He is wrathful, jealous, arrogant, and has a penchant for violence; all of which add together to result in a rather unpleasant individual. Of course, he does have his good points as well, but it just so happens that the negative greatly outweigh the positive.

Most noticeable in the comic and his subsequent appearance is his envy. Seeing as his descendant is Eridan Ampora, green-eyed monster extraordinaire, this shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone. And in combination with his violent inclinations, it often ends in someone getting murdered. Whether it's a sense of insecurity that drives him to do such, in fear of losing those he considers his, it's just the way the cookie ends up crumbling. And if your one of "his"? A pity for you! Jealousy often goes hand-in-hand with possessiveness, and he is no exception to the rule. As Mindfang explained in one of her journals, he often guarded her location from others due to the mere possibility of someone taking her from him. If your one of his, he'll guard you as closely as he does his treasures: for you are now one of them.

In which case this brings up one of his few and far between positive qualities. He is loyal. Incredibly so. He would gladly die for the Empress, as he harbors red ambitions towards her. It's safe to say that even if he didn't, that due to his respect of the hemospectrum, he would do so anyway. And it would be an honor. Indeed, when it comes to love or hate he is quite the passionate one: it just comes with the price of... well, having Dualscar as a significant other.

His overwhelming respect for the hemospectrum causes both an overabundance of arrogance and extremely racist tendencies. Arrogance is to be expected of one of his royal hues, considering the benefits that come from such a color. One familiar with blood castes shouldn't be surprised; though however rightful, it doesn't make it any less appalling to behold. Hell, he'll even look down upon those highbloods that treat the lower with anything but disdain. He's the type of guy to go on lowblood killing sprees for fun, even to the point of deriving sadistic pleasure from it. As he sees them as a blemish on troll society, he's only doing their race a favor with extermination. As an enthusiast of logic and science, it's unsurprising that he adheres so adamantly to the theory of natural selection.

Despite this, he's still quite the emotionally-driven individual. While he is of a strategic mindset and would always prefer to rely upon reason rather than intuition, sometimes his temperament just doesn't allow him to do so. He's a smart guy, but loneliness breeds impulsiveness, and he's simply more prone to it than the aforementioned. The two sides are in constant conflict with each other, but at times the emotional factor of it all proves to be just too much to ignore, no matter how illogical it may appear.

It's likely there aren't many on good terms with him, besides those who follow him of his crew. It's likely because he's a pretty insensitive and condescending douche. He can be hard to please. However, if one does fulfill the requirements of: one) not being a rustblood, and two) being able to put up with him, than there's the potential of seeing more than just his profoundly sour exterior. Of course, he would treat those he loves with.. well, kindness. He might just be capable of some form of empathy after all, if harboring the desire for romance is anything at all to go by.

Abilities: In comparison to the average human: greatly enhanced speed and strength and a prolonged lifespan.
