So I did a bit of Christmas shopping today. Here are my thoughts:

1) I don't like this new trend of photographs as the covers of novels. It's a violation of imagination.

2) I noticed that the tagline for the film Misery, as printed on the DVD, goes: "Paul Sheldon used to write for a living. Now he's writing to stay alive." The tagline would

the best violator of imagination is the imagination, as you so cunningly illustrate.

"a living" has become qualitatively different than "staying alive" since saturday nigh fever.
