I fuckin' wish I was now! Apparently it's already sold out. But if you're lucky enough to be going, I can just say that it will be wonderful. When I saw them at the Warfield in 2002 (back-to-back nights!) they put on the funnest, most winning live shows I've ever been to. On top of that I hear that the sets on their current tour are leaning heavily on Sinister and Pursuit.

Craigslisting for tickets could yield something, but I don't know if I want to go through with all that, especially considering that the expense could be much greater than the original price.

Paragraph 2 could almost be copy for a coffee, shampoo, or wine ad in Harpers.

In another of a string of curious and inept life decisions, I am doing a concept album about Spencer. A third or so done. It's going to suck balls.

I heard some of this album in Santa Cruz and I remember being supremely bored. If you are trying to tell me this is incorrect, I will give it a more careful listen.

Oh, I'm not trying to tell you anything. I think it goes without saying that, despite a vast area of shared enthusiasms, there is a lot of music that I like that doesn't interest you and vice versa. There is a formulaicness to the album which is ultimately transcended, for me, by performance and production. But I can imagine how it wouldn't do that for you.

Fair enough indeed. I still might give it another spin.

If you feel compelled. But I don't need any more people to think I'm crazy.
