I have discovered a solution to my 2 eternal problem of eating out (which are - a bottle of is just TOO much for one person and well, it's not the healthiest thing ever)

The solution? Barbarossa. 50 min round walk from the flat and 3 pages of wine by the glass.

Uh, that looks like it has a nice ambience.

But I'm surprised. Every restaurant here sells wine by glass as well as bottle. Would that be unusual in the UK?

Most do sell some wines by the glass, but you're lucky if you get a choice of 4 reds and 4 whites. More often it is 2 of each. It IS improving, slowly. This was one of the best selections I've seen, certainly in the local area (they haven't updated the website since the wine bar opened).

Yeah, the choices differ a lot from restaurant to restaurant here, too but usually you can get any wine they have on offer.
