Autocrats Day Off XX

I went to Autocrats ... and hell didn't freeze over. I thought about why I dislike the event so much. Of course, I hate camping in general, so that is a large part of it. We figured out in the car that my big problem is that I never went to the event until I was the autocrat ... and I autocratted it two years in a row. Autocratting an event ( Read more... )

That is the next message. There was just a gap while I had to get tough with a 7 year old who was dawdling about going to bed ... and it was 9 o'clock. This is the glamourous life of a bard.

I had fun too, and enjoyed driving both of you. I was a great chance for chats. The Bardic time was also one of my most enjoyable ever. I rather liked the way it flowed from dinner through dishes to whatever. I couldn't hear everything you were singing or saying, but I caught snatches from where I was sitting (until I moved closer for the singing). It seemed very natural and the way I imagine many bards would have worked. I had always avoided the choir (no time to practise,, not my period, etc.), but recognized a few songs and enjoyed the chance to try singing with friends in a very informal setting.

It wasn't the way I envisioned it working, but you make it work. Performance at feast is much debated. I'm turning more and more into a fan of the bard who goes from table to table asking if they want a poem or song. (E.g. Martin Bildner.) Performing for 2-3 people should not be a waste of a bard's time unless you are just doing it for an ego trip.

I want to go to Marie's music nights (whenever she starts them) if I can make them fit into my schedule.

If you let Marie know what nights you're available, the odds the nights would fit into your schedule would probably increase. :)

I don't totally know at this point. I may not even have a free night. It's a matter of figuring out when I'm working, when all the kids' activities are, and possibly scheduling a dance course for me. (Of course my dance course is the lowest priority.)
