I'm completely disgusted by the government of my country. Completely appalled.
What the HELL are we DOING??? and Why? We have bail out plan. It failed the first time. Why? Because it did NOT help those it was supposed to help. It was giving 700 Billion Dollars to those who would go from million/billionairs to bankrupt. It would say "here, we know you are going to loose all your money, take this, retire with it, and feel no consequence from your actions. The average American will pay for your food, housing, and why not all your fancy toys that you can continue to afford" It didn't fix any financial crisis. it fattened the pockets with those who already have fat pockets and gained it through greed! gah, i could go forever.
So they make a new plan. Whats in it....? The same effing thing. PLUS! Now we are going to add more money to pay for every Senate voters' special interest. Anyone who said "no" in the first place, is getting paid off. You want importanted rum to be chearper? DONE! Tax cuts for imported rum! Your going to vote yes now, right? Splendid. While we are at it, lets pay for movie(s?) from hollywood, now those in CA will vote yes too, right? Awesome! Lets pay for child-made wooden arrows! YES! and Racetracks! and researching Cow Shit! YES YES YES! Yes-votes all around. What do you know, you can of course bribe our goverment and put money in their pockets. that would tie in nicely with our capitalist nation... i mean you don't need to be capitalist to have greedy law makers and leaders, but i mean, at this rate.. why not put it all together... no one needs morals when the country runs on who can make the most money.
I'm just so disappointed. in our government. and our media. This financial crisis is only going to affect the average american IF the BAIL OUT is passed. not otherwise. so far as i can tell only those with major amounts... like millions or billions invested, and the banks with the subprime mortgages are going to feel it... welll... the stock market is going to crash is people freak out.. which they are... because the news is going "DUN DUN DUN!!!! Bail out Package FAILS. WHAT is going to HAPPEN NOW!" of course people will freak.. the whole bits based on mood.. bah.... why would anybody learn from the past.... and the banks with sub prim mortgages... well.. ya know what.. if you are going to base business on dishonest business practices, and it backfires... well you deserve to deal with consequences... and honestly, the problem shouldn't have been ABLE to escalate to this point. where was gov't intervention THEN? seriously.
I'm so pissed. this isn't going to FIX anything.. this doesn't even ADDRESS the problem its supposed to fix... its going to put it off at best.. so instead of the average person having to tighten their belt now for a few years, they are going to be in SEROUS trouble in a year or two and god knows how they will survive THEN. i'm worried about THAT.... i could only have to not spend much on my coffee and going out to eat every now and then, and getting josh and my parents their little gifts. but if this passes i feel like, instead, i could or could not cut back and it won't matter, in a few years its likely i'm going to have trouble all around, not being able to pay bills cause i will get laid off and not able to pay for gas.. and who knows what will happen to the credit industry... -__-;
its sad, i don't normally get worked up about politics, but this.. this can't get brushed off... and maybe thats part of the problem... my generation is very "you know, whatever, we'll just bend over and take it, and then shit will blow over.. no problem... it will get fixed eventually" thats pretty sad for the generation that is supposed to 'fix everything' the previous generation screwed up. no one that i know has even been near washington with a sign saying they don't agree with this bullshit... i haven't heard a thing about it. maybe we just need a leader... i don'tknow.. but its sorta depressing... worrying about the debates is not enough.
and another about the media. Foster's says: "A wave of House converts jumped aboard the $700 billion financial industry bailout Thursday on the eve of a make-or-break second vote, as lawmakers responded to an awakening among voters to the pain ahead of them if stability isnt restored to the tottering econonmy."
Yea... they were responding the the pain ahead of them.. not the additional money being promised to be dumped into their personal interests.. Rum, racing, wooden arrows(seriously guys.. what the hell)...
So disgusted... maybe someone will present me with a different view.. something that will make this make more sense...
Well..that doesn't happen very often
