# 57. Detention
Lee Jinki was a honour student. He aced all his courses and he was ranked top 10 in his whole grade. He was every teacher's favourite student and every parent's ideal son.
But- now, Lee Jinki was making his way to the detention room.
Keeping his gaze on his shoes, he took a seat in the second row. He neatly placed his backpack beside his chair and straightened up his back instinctively. 'I can do this.' He comforted himself, smoothing out his knitted vest.
A boy, around his age, stepped into the room, making his entrance noticeable. The perfectly styled multicoloured bangs, or a flash of his killer smile, never failed to awe him. The boy's choice of a white graphic tee and an eye-catching purple wind breaker made him feel ashamed of his own blue-white striped vest. He recognized the fashionable boy since not many of the boys, or even the girls, can pull off outfits like him. He was no other than the famous Kim Kibum.
Jinki tore his gaze away from the boy. Instead, he focused on his biology textbook.
Detention was Kibum's extra curricular activity. He found it entertaining to be in detention once in a while since the teachers on duty never cared about the 'useless' students in the room. He looked around the classroom, noticing an unfamiliar face amongst the crowd. The boy was cute with a pair of frames and a dorky vest. The boy with neat hair knocked his mechanical pencil on the wooden desk, tap, tap, tap; It was almost as if he was inviting him to come closer.
His thin lips drew into a sly grin at the thought. He tapped the cute boy's shoulder and met the almond shaped orbs hidden behind the black frames.
“Y-yes?” Jinki stuttered.
Kibum smiled, a little too sweetly, “You are sitting in my seat baby.” His slender finger pointed at the mustard yellow plastic chair.
“B-baby?”
He chuckled at the others' nervous state. “Well, don't mind me then.”
“M-mind you-” Jinki was interrupted as Kibum took a seat on his thighs. His eyes were wide opened with shock that the Kim Kibum was on his lap. He had seen the other on guy's laps before but not anyone like him. Words got clogged in his throat but he managed to blurt out a line. “Uh...”
After a moment of silent, he shut his gaping mouth as he stared at the other up close. He had always known the boy was good looking, but not this beautiful. Kibum had a pair of cat-like eyes, a smooth jawline, flawless skin, and of course a pair of luscious strawberry lips. Being close to him, he was able to take in his scent of lemons and expensive cologne. Gently, Jinki pushed the boy off him.
Kibum lightly jumped off and pouted at him. “I was enjoying myself.” His slender arms crossed over his chest as he took the seat beside him instead. Digging into his bag, he flashed out two lollipop. “Want one?” He popped the orange flavoured candy into his mouth.
“Thank you.” He accepted the purple stick with a shy smile.
“So, what is your name?”
“I-I'm Jinki.” He answered awkwardly while watching the white lollipop stick twirling between the pink lips. It was seriously distracting him.
The other raised his brow. “Do you always do that, I mean your stuttering?” Jinki shook his head. “Hey just so you know, I don't bite.” He stuck out his tongue playfully at him.
Jinki chuckled softly at how childish he was, despite his smug reputation. “I know.”
“Aren't you some kind of straight A's student?” He propped his elbow on the desk, resting his head on his hand lazily. His hair shone under the sunlight. “Why are you in here?”
He gulped at how beautiful the other looked right now. “I didn't want to dissect a frog in biology.” He frowned as he remembered the tray full of unconscious frogs lying side by side. “Frogs are living beings too! I don't think they should be used as an experiment.”
“Really?” The others' expression softened.
He nodded as he scratched the back of his neck. “I know it sounds kind of lame to you but-”
“No,” Kibum reached out his arm and played with the others' warm fingers. He bit his bottom lip (which Jinki thought was sexy) and continued, “Because I am in detention for Mr. Froggy too.”
“What?”
He took a deep breath, checking over his shoulders to see if anyone else heard. “I refused to do the dissection too.” Taking the lollipop out from his mouth, he stared at the glistening candy; the orange was almost finished. “And I got landed with detention, again.”
Jinki restrained a smile. Who would have known the school bad boy would be a caring, animal loving boy like himself? “Really? I would have never thought you would-” Kibum's hand was now rested on his left thigh; he was drawing little circles with his index. He shivered under his touch, drawing a smirk on the others' lips. Unconsciously, he held in his breath.
“Finish your sentence Jinki.” Kibum looked at him. His expression a bit too innocent for his teasing fingers that were now trailing up his thigh.
“I-I just... I-I...”
Kibum's hand phone vibrated on the desk, the screen blinking every second. “Hold that thought.”
The boy in the striped vest breathed out softly. He was lucky that someone had saved him with the text message. 'Stupid Jinki, don't be so distracted.' He was in a self dilemma. 'Was it his memorizing eyes? Was it his teasing finger? Was it his warm tickling breath?' He watched the other with the corner of his eyes and was amazed at how fast he was typing away on his phone. 'Or was it just Kibum?'
The teacher at the front noisily folded up his newspaper. He cleared his throat, getting the attention of the students. “You are dismissed.” Without another word, he picked up his leather suitcase and left.
Kibum jumped out of his seat and then did a quick body stretch. “Finally.” He breathed out, taking a glance at the door. His best friend, Jonghyun was standing there with a goofy grin. He waved lazily at the other as he picked up his bag. “Well, there's my friend. It was nice meeting you Jinki.”
Jinki stared at how beautiful the pink lips looked in a smile. And he wondered how it felt to kiss those pouty lips. “Y-yeah, it was nice meeting you too Kibum.” He slung his backpack over his shoulders and gradually made his way to the door.
“Hey Jinki!”
The boy turned around in time to see him leaning forward and an orange flavoured kiss was planted on him. His body tensed up as he watched the other skip off with his blonde hair friend. His cold fingertips brushed past his thin lips; Jinki could still feel Kibum's soft lips on his.
And- he could not help but to smile.

Jinki was sitting in biology class. His textbook was opened in front of him but the words were hardly making any sense to him. 'Biology is a natural science concerned with the study of Kibum, his teasing fingers and orange flavoured kisses.' Shaking his head, he chewed on his bottom lip.
Kim Kibum has been on his mind ever since his detention. He had not seen the other the whole week, mostly because of their non-clashing schedules and their choice of study places. He did not know why, but he wanted to see him, to talk to him, and simply be with him.
And so, he interrupted the teacher with a loud burp.
“Lee Jinki?” The teacher glared at her favourite student. “Something wrong with your digestive system?”
The boy shook his head left to right and grinned.
“Then...”
“Youarejustaboringoldwoman.”
The whole class fell silent at his words.
“Lee Jinki, detention!” She shouted, her thin fingers curled into a tight fist. “For a month!”
Jinki popped a orange flavoured lollipop in his mouth; his lips in a cheeky smile.“Thank you~”
