When it rains it pours

So my labtop screen got cracked. How? I have no idea. It was fine one day and after i got home from work I tried to use it and I noticed it had cracks in it. Either way anyone with any idea how much it will set me back to get it fixed. I had alot of stuff on it. Thank you.

Is it still under warranty? if it is then you should be able to send it in for servicing and it should cost you shipping and handeling and not much else, if its not under warranty let me know what type of laptop it is and we can look on ebay to see what replacement screens are going for(however it may be more cost effective to just buy an new laptop). However between me, bastard and AshuraX you should have enough friends who work in IT to get the screen replaced just for the cost of parts.

Regardless of what happens with the laptop screen I can pop out the hard drive and put it into an external drive this weekend and you can access all of your documents from any other computer you have available to you.
