I'll grant you that this is true of relationships. When a man has a woman it's much less likely that he will follow impulses that result in major shifts in life direction. Someone is there to check his logic, makes him think twice because it affects more than just him, and reminds him that he has a dinner party at her parent's place to go to which she'll kill him for missing.

Yeah, I can't say I really miss that.

But that hose really is fantastic.
