I don't think the Australian public want reality TV at all. I think the networks are starting to flog a dead horse.

The Resort didnt even finish. Hot House was a ratings disaster. The amount of reality TV this year is incredible, and its getting to the point where its NOT about how many people watch it, but WHICH STATION has the best shows? Channel 7 flogs the Restaurant show, Channel 9 flogs any american show it can get its hands on and Channel 10 ALWAYS has something to prove when it comes to reality TV.

Its completely nuts, and it has nothing to do with the Australian public anymore.

We have so many reality series on that it's hard to avoid them. I really should be thankful though. I was watching too much tv until they put all these shows on. Now, I read more (because I can't stand another scripted, fake, humiliation show). I really don't think the people on these shows have any pride. *shakes head*

When I heard about survivor, I was facinated and I watched the entire series, hooked. I never liked the idea of Big Brother. The first time I heard about it was when it started somewhere in Europe and it was one of those kind of "Shock! Crazy new reality TV show" headlines that brought it to my attention. I find no pleasure in seeing a fat chick in a g-string fling her ass around 24hrs a day and prettymuch every single episode I have watched of the prime-time edition (I had no urge to see their breasts and asses so I made no effort to watch the uncut version) involved them all sitting around staring at the walls, bored stupid.

I dont watch TV anymore, but every time I hear about yet another 'new and original' reality TV show it makes me cringe. Surely people dont care anymore. They've seen people cry, get naked, be humiliated now in masses of programs already shown that watching it again cant possibly be that interesting.
