How I spent my sick day

When I woke up yesterday, I had the grandmother of all non-migraine headaches, with aspirations of growing up to be a full-fledged migraine. (I don't get them very often, praise God, but I do get hit two or three times a year.) I called in sick and went back to bed. Are you sure you had the headache BEFORE all of this? Sheesh!

I second talking with a supervisor and threatening to switch to another provider. It's the simplest way to achieve the effect you want, even if it means getting paper bills from Cavalier instead of Verizon.

I'll comment on the happy part: I can still remember when you were Queen of the East, back in 1978.

I seem to recall coming into court, about a month into your reign, and pouring boxes of New World gold and silver into your laps. Your Blue Duke was quick-witted and gracious, and all that a Good King is supposed to be. That was a fine day, wasn't it?

Sometimes.... not always, but sometimes, you can get a Real Live Person by pressing 0 instead of the other menu options they tell you. It's sure worth a try, even if they don't tell you about it. It might work anyway.
