At any rate, I don't cross any bridges between work and home (except a very small stone one that doesn't seem to freeze up much) and the roads -- even the dark, narrow, twisty one ( Read more... )

I can send the SU and MM over to take a look at replacing it, if you like. They have nothing going on this Saturday...

You, Madam, are an angel. I'll actually be out of town this weekend, but the SU and MM are more than welcome to come by and look at things . . . The railing's been gone since the ramp went up, and I'm getting more nervous about it with every shift in the weather. Love you!

Will the Heir be gone as well? Do you have a preference of materials (metal or wood)?

The Heir will be in town, but he's working pretty much all weekend. I can leave a key at your house for SU and MM if they'd like . . .

I don't have a particular preference in materials as long as it's stable. I'll be home tomorrow (Frida) morning, so you can call me there if we need to talk.

It has been scary-icy here, too! Yikes! We had rain on top of snow that caused flooding, then all that water froze, so there is lots of ice everywhere. At least the driveway at our house is level, unlike our previous place which had a long slippery hill--that used to terrify me on a regular basis.

All winter, I keep a small bag of kitty litter in the back seat of the car (where I can reach it without getting out). It comes in handy now and then.

Keep your fingers crossed that spring is on its way!
