I wasn't going to do this because I figured it would be all sci-fi and fantasy and I would feel stupid for not having read any of them. But I looked at the list, and thought, huh.

The basic rules: bold what you have read, italicize what you started but couldn’t finish, and strike through what you couldn’t stand.

Man, you started but never finished three different Russian novels, and hated three of them? After the second, I think I'd give up.

This was when I was in my "I need to read classics, good books that smart people read" phase. So I plowed through as many of the "good" stuff as I could, and then happily went back to my romance novels, thinking, "Hey, I tried!"
